Dr. Katie Ehrmann was born in Queens and moved to Rye Brook, NY in Westchester County when she was four years old. While growing up, she always harbored a passion for art and literature, and could often be found with charcoal and colored pencils in one hand and a book in the other. After toying with the idea of going to art school, she ultimately elected to attend SUNY Binghamton, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish. After spending time shadowing a local dentist during her summers, she came to recognize the marriage of science and artistry required to restore form, function, and health to patients. She thus made the decision to pursue dentistry.
Dr. Katie went on to attend NYU’s College of Dentistry where she obtained her DDS degree as well as a certification in Invisalign. During her time at NYU, Dr. Katie participated in various outreach programs for underserved populations in NYC, including providing free oral screenings and dental care to children at local schools and daycare centers. After graduation, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the Hudson Valley VA Hospital in Wappingers Falls, NY, where she had the honor of serving our nation’s Veterans. A truly humbling experience, the program focused on treating veterans with medical complexities in areas such as restorative, crown and bridge, implant placement and restoration, dentures, oral pathology, and endodontics. One of the most rewarding aspects of her career is the opportunity it provides to form meaningful relationships with her patients, who have come from all walks of life and each have their own stories to tell.
Dr. Katie is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. When she is not practicing dentistry, she can still be found drawing or reading a good book, and has recently taken up acrylic painting. Some of her favorite things are watching the Price is Right, spending time with friends and family, and travelling and hiking. She especially loves exploring our National Parks with her fiance, Mike, and their dog, Penny.
